This article is about why pronouns are awesome. After reading it, I've decided that pronouns really are one of the coolest linguistic developments of all time.

This is an oldie, but a goodie. Michael Pollan is famous for his books on food and nutrition, particularly In Defense of Food and The Omnivore's Dilemma, and while I do not necessarily agree with everything he's said in his books, the intrinsic moral value of his argument(s) is undeniably useful and intriguing. In short, he suggests that (especially) America has moved away from eating "food" (in quotes because many of the things we eat deserve air quotes around them) and towards eating potentially unhealthful modified science projects.
Definitely worth your time if you give it to him.
