I had it all planned out from the beginning - Na-Siik was going to die a dramatic and emotional death, and everyone would be all like "Wow, how dramatic and emotional!", but I'm too much of a baby.

As time went on, there seemed to be stronger fan support for the character with every episode. So, I started envisioning a world with Na-Siik as a member of the crew. Honestly, I feel he fits pretty well within the landscape - there's no real "bad ass" so far, and the crew could use a bit of an edge for when Alda can't provide that role.

So, I sacrifice a potentially great ending for more flexibility in the future. I can deal with that.

Anyway, thank you to all you readers for your wonderful and encouraging support of me and my strip. You guys rock and make it all worthwhile!

Awesome job. Great mission. I'm glad to see Na'siik become a recurring character. He has great chemistry with the others, and I think you made the right call in sacrificing a dramatic ending in exchange for keeping that chemistry alive.

I...have to admit, I'm a little confused about the last panel, though, where Keyes cryptically says he's fully recovered from the mutation. Is he wearing Steele's outfit, as Pig Men have been shown to do in the past?

Sorry for the confusion! The last panel is supposed to be Alda wistfully glaring out the window while leaning back, remarking that he's fully recovered except for the implied death of Na-Siik.

Perhaps I tried to make the meaning a bit too thick for one panel. I'll work on that in the future!

The receiver/talkee thing turned out really well; I like the fuzzy effects too.

I admit I had the same difficulty as Chris, though I see it better now that you've explained it. I had thought, perhaps, that the Captain's de-piggification had undergone some complications.

Glad to see Na'Siik joining the crew. He's got some serious badassery.
